Day One Arrival in Ankara, meeting and assistance by our local repre- sentative. Drive through Anatolian countryside to Capadocia. En route, visit 13th-entury Agzikarahan Caravan Inn and the underground city of Kaymakli.

Day Two Tour pottery-making village of Avanos, natural citadel of Uchisar, the cliff dwellings of Zelve and Goreme with its 365 carved rock churches decorated with frescoes. Return drive to Ankara for evening flight to Izmir. Dinner and overnight at Izmir. (B, D)

Day Three Drive through Menderes valley to Pammukale to visit the white limestone cascades and hot springs. Visit ruins of Roman health spa and the city of Hierapolis. Afternoon return to Izmir for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day Four Short morning drive to ancient Ephesus followed by visit to the modern seaside town of Kusadasi. Afternoon return to Izmir for return flight to Istanbul. Arrival transfer to hotel. (B, D)

Day Five Full-day tour of Istanbul visiting the Topkapi Palace, Saint Sophia Basilica, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, and the Grand Bazaar. Overnight in Istanbul. (B, D)

Day Six Half-day tour of Dolmabache Palace. Afternoon at leisure. Istanbul- by-night tour with dinner and entertainment. Overnight at hotel. (B, D)
